I've posted my Worldcon reports to my regular blog Dirac Angestun Gesept (aka [livejournal.com profile] dirac_angestun), but since many of the people I met are LiveJournal users, I figured I'd make a post for LJ with appropriate LJ-user tags, and discussing some events which were semi-private but have since been mentioned on LJ. (This also acts as a pointer to my regular blog for folks who find my LJ but don't look at my bio page.)

Think of it as the annotated NESFA Press edition, or the extended edition with Peter Jackson's commentary, or whatever.

Thursday:

Mary Kay Kare is, of course, [livejournal.com profile] marykaykare. The folks I had lunch with and then took to the MIT Museum were [livejournal.com profile] trinker, [livejournal.com profile] betnoir, and [livejournal.com profile] western_slope. I also met [livejournal.com profile] seawasp in the ConCourse.

There were about a bajillion folks at the LJ/blog party, but at the moment I remember talking to, in alphabetical order, at least: [livejournal.com profile] aiglet, [livejournal.com profile] annafdd, [livejournal.com profile] autopope, [livejournal.com profile] betnoir, [livejournal.com profile] chanaleh, [livejournal.com profile] cheshyre, [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel, [livejournal.com profile] feorag, [livejournal.com profile] kate_nepveu, [livejournal.com profile] lilairen, [livejournal.com profile] marykaykare, [livejournal.com profile] nancylebov, [livejournal.com profile] orzelc, [livejournal.com profile] papersky, [livejournal.com profile] pnh, [livejournal.com profile] rivka, [livejournal.com profile] seawasp, [livejournal.com profile] stakebait, [livejournal.com profile] tammylc, [livejournal.com profile] thomasyan, [livejournal.com profile] tnh, [livejournal.com profile] trinker, [livejournal.com profile] veejane, [livejournal.com profile] xiphias, and [livejournal.com profile] xopher_vh.

If I've left you out (or included you when I saw you elsewhere at the con and not at the LJ party), I apologize; please let me know so I can fix it. I'm sure I'm missing people I actually met!

Friday:

Dealers' room time was usually at [livejournal.com profile] elisem's table, often in the presence of [livejournal.com profile] papersky. [livejournal.com profile] autopope was at the kaffeeklatsch, of course. The dinner run was with [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel and [livejournal.com profile] rivka. I don't know if any of the other gamers had LJs.

Saturday:

The "Tradeoffs" panel included [livejournal.com profile] tnh.

I stopped into the start of a panel to say hello to [livejournal.com profile] gnomi before running off to the Fantasy of Manners panel, which itself featured [livejournal.com profile] papersky.

The kaffeeklatsch I didn't get signed up for would have been with [livejournal.com profile] tnh and [livejournal.com profile] pnh. I did meet [livejournal.com profile] farwing in the ConCourse, however, so not all was sadness.

[livejournal.com profile] papersky did her reading from Farthing, and then the "small private gathering" I referenced was her Saturday tea party, with [livejournal.com profile] rivka and [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel again, plus [livejournal.com profile] ailsaek, [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks, [livejournal.com profile] gaudior, [livejournal.com profile] tammylc, [livejournal.com profile] aethereal_girl, [livejournal.com profile] dhole, probably some folks I'm forgetting, and [livejournal.com profile] jonsinger.

Dinner at Chilli Duck was with [livejournal.com profile] rivka and [livejournal.com profile] curiousangel yet again, except that unlike Friday's dinner, we ate at the restaurant and combined great conversation with the great food.

[livejournal.com profile] seawasp was at the Baen party, where I also met [livejournal.com profile] chakaal, though I didn't know she had a LiveJournal at the time.

Sunday:

I signed up for a kaffeeklatsch with [livejournal.com profile] mabfan, had a chance to chat with [livejournal.com profile] cheshyre, was reminded about the art show by [livejournal.com profile] jonsinger, saw [livejournal.com profile] farwing again at [livejournal.com profile] elisem's table, and caught [livejournal.com profile] papersky on yet another panel.

The Tor presentation had [livejournal.com profile] pnh presenting, and I also saw [livejournal.com profile] kate_nepveu and [livejournal.com profile] marykaykare there, though they headed out before I did.

The "another small quiet gathering" was another [livejournal.com profile] papersky tea party, which benefitted from my over-buying of cups on the previous day.

While party-hopping, I once again encountered [livejournal.com profile] farwing and also finally met [livejournal.com profile] del_c, both at the Readercon party, then saw [livejournal.com profile] veejane again (though I didn't know it at the time) at the Weird Al sing-along party.

Monday:

Kaffeeklatsch with [livejournal.com profile] mabfan and [livejournal.com profile] gnomi, then to the "Obsolete High Technology" panel featuring [livejournal.com profile] autopope and [livejournal.com profile] beamjockey. From there, lunch with [livejournal.com profile] beamjockey, and after the closing ceremonies, a short chat with [livejournal.com profile] kjc007 and [livejournal.com profile] jbsegal.

Aftermath & Thoughts:

As already noted, attendees at [livejournal.com profile] feorag's birthday bash included [livejournal.com profile] del_c, [livejournal.com profile] autopope, and [livejournal.com profile] fluffcthulhu.

Holy crap, so you're the other person on the planet who read Wasp. I loved that book, wore out one copy as a kid/teen.
I tried loaning it to some people, with no success.
