Date: 2024-01-06 23:15 (UTC)It was good but bittersweet. It should have been to dedicate a bench in the hospice's Veterans Memorial Garden for my uncle, and my cousin Nick should have been there; instead, we dedicated two benches - the second for Nick.
The weather was great, the event was very well done (and extremely emotional), and the lunch was a welcome opportunity to get some North Carolina barbecue; I'm glad I went.

Date: 2024-01-07 17:54 (UTC)Jackson's Big Oak Barbecue was close to my growing-up church and we enjoyed going there. The other two BBQ places in Wilmington I remember were Flip's, and Casey's Buffet (which became my favorite, but it was a bit further out on Oleander).
