oh, oh...i like the Cat Ethernet cable way...can i use the cable that is on my DSL modem(it's yellow)? (i don't have home network)

Most likely, you can use the cable that goes between your computer and the DSL modem. If it has ends that look like this, it's probably the right thing.

You may need to turn on various networking options depending on what Mac OS the iMac is running.

yes. the ends look just like that (it hooks the Dino-Mac™[333] to the net via the Actiontec DSL modem from Qwest.

the poor old thing [iMac] is running (embarrassingly) Mac OS 8.6...ha-ha-ha.

dooooood, thank you so much for your help w/my "issue". guess what? it worked like a charm! everything from the DinoMac™ is now on the MiniMac™. yay!
