I found the Earth-shattering kaboom(s)

I can see some of the fireworks (despite the efforts of buildings, trees, and the like to block my view) but even if I couldn't see them, I'd certainly be able to hear them.

Is it just me, or are they louder than usual this year?

Surprisingly, I can't see the fireworks - I think my view is pretty much completely blocked by Museum Towers (I'm on O'Brien Highway just west of the O'Brien Highway/Land Blvd intersection). Sure can hear them, though. Maybe it's more overcast this year? Clouds do a good job of reflecting shockwaves back toward the ground.
