Yeah, and I'm not sure whether it'll ever get back to the old pace. Work travel is pretty much over for me (budget cuts & team changes mean that instead of 1-2 trips a year to Munich I make 1-2 trips a year to...Kirkland) and convention/leisure travel is still losing the risk/reward tradeoff a lot of the time. On top of all that, Delta's shifting of their frequent flyer program to purely spend-based status massively nerfed my "lots of long cheap flights" approach to the point where I don't expect to earn any status above my "annual complimentary" Gold Medallion (from 1 Million Miler - and they nerfed the bonuses that might have gotten me to 2MM and Platinum in a reasonable time) so mileage runs are pretty much gone as well.

I do have one trip planned for this year that'll pick up a couple of new cities and airports at least...but my trip to Worldcon will be shorter than my trip to the airport.

You had a good run and saw a lot of interesting places. I hope that's some consolation. I've got some long trips abroad still to come, I hope, but I really feel the cold breath of Time on my neck.
