Well, I still think the answer is the MBTA CT1 or 1 bus, but I recall you're not interested in riding the bus....
Driving? Mass Ave across the river, then:
Option 1: left on Boylston and right on Dalton, then park in the garage there (don't remember the name...but it's basically across Dalton from the side of the Hynes). This is closest to the convention center but requires outdoor walking to get to the Hynes (not much of it...half a block to the entrance?).
Option 2: stay on Mass Ave to Huntington Ave, left on Huntington, park in either the Prudential Center or Copley Place garages. Prudential is closer, but they are connected by a skybridge, so once you're parked you can stay inside all the way to the Sheraton/Hynes.
