My great-grandfather fought in the Great War, and was lucky enough to live to see Armistice Day.
His son-in-law flew stateside training in the Second World War, and lived to see V-J Day.
His grandson-in-law, my father, was flying MEDEVAC helicopters for the US Army in the late 1960s-early 1970s, though not in Indochina (though his grandson-in-law's brother did).
His great-grandson, my brother, flies MEDEVAC helicopters today, and has already been to Iraq, and back safely.
To all of them; to those of you reading this who served; and, even more so, to your comrades-in-arms who cannot be here today...my thanks.
