U-Turn?

It looks like Amazing Race 12 is going to have some new twists.

At the end of the CBS recap for the premiere:
U-TURN:
There was no U-Turn on this leg.

SPEED BUMP
There was no Speed Bump on this leg.

Hmm!

No mention of Intersections, but the Fast Forward and Yield are both mentioned. (The Fast Forward gets mentioned twice for no apparent reason.)

Interesting. I never much liked the Yield - I wish they'd drop that. And I liked it better when they had a Fast Forward on every leg. Wonder what these new twists will be.

I enjoyed seeing the taxi karma play out in the first leg. (He who steals a taxi meant for someone else acquires bad karma. He who yells at a taxi driver is doomed to encounter slow taxi drivers for the rest of the show.)

Some very interesting characters this season...

I was bothered by how the couple treated the ass who was being an ass. There was *something* clearly up with that critter, and I'd bet good money it was one or another of the straps on it. Mind you, if someone treated me like they treated that donkey, I'd be an ass, too. >:-P

Already seeing lots of potential for Teh Drama™. Although I wish they'd stop airing those annoying Excited Cheerleader Shrieks™. Not pleasant to listen to at all...

About 4 years after you told me I would really like the amazing race, i started watching it and I am HOOKED. I want to ask where this show has been all my life, but of course the answer is that you were telling me I'd love it years ago. Thanks to bittorrent, I've seen all of season 1, most of season 2, and I have season 9 queued up.

I have a lot of catching up to do. You told me so.

Hee hee hee! We started watching with TAR3 and eventually got the chance to watch 1 and 2 when GSN started the reruns.

I wish they'd ship DVD sets of more than just seasons 1 and 7. They've had some great team commentaries on the two existing sets.

GSN has been re-running seasons 1-8 in the wee hours of the morning, which has let us re-watch them whenever (the joys of TiVo), though they've been hacking them up a bit to add in more commercials. Fox Reality has started showing TAR11 (All-Stars) on Sunday before the TAR12 showing on CBS; they're giving it 1:15 and adding interstitial interview segments with several of the teams.

Happy Turkey Day. Me, I've got some movie-watching scheduled for tonight: MST3K's The Day The Earth Froze and maybe some Hercules cinema.
