I think Dave Barry once wrote that the reason they play that "Hey, hey, goodbye" song at ballparks is that most of the crowd can remember most of the words.

I recognize more than I can name, but I think the following are right:
9. "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da", The Police
10. "The Witch Doctor", David Seville
12. "Mrs. Robinson", Simon and Garfunkel
13. "I Am The Walrus", The Beatles
15. "Get A Job", Sha Na Na (?)

A number of years ago, a friend made me a CD that he called "Aphasia." It contains such songs as "Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)" and "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm."

[identity profile] neonnurse.livejournal.com 2006-04-28 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
4. Land of 1000 Dances
10. Witch Doctor
11. Kiss Her Goodbye
12. Mrs. Robinson
13. I Am the Walrus
14. Theme from the Great White North

I probably should know more, but I'm hindered by the cold medication.

The first one sounds rather like the beginning of Beethoven's 5th, but I rather assume not.

No no no! It's Tom's Diner!

Morris Day and the Time, actually.

Sorry. ;)

Friends of mine came up with something similar for just Yes songs, nothing else. They called it the profound lyrics quiz. Heh.

BTW, this is the coolest lyrics quiz ever. :)

[identity profile] timprov.livejournal.com 2006-04-29 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
#2 is "1,000 Miles" by The Proclaimers, yes?

[identity profile] timprov.livejournal.com 2006-04-30 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever it's called, it's the one with the mohels.

Is #7 "Self-Esteem" by The Offspring?

[identity profile] mdyesowitch.livejournal.com 2006-05-01 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Where's:
Too rah loh rah too rah loo rah ayyye!
I can hear 7 but I can't put the rest of the words to it. Which is very irritating.

But I had a question for you, so I'm going to post anyway. How do you feel about card games?

[identity profile] mdyesowitch.livejournal.com 2006-05-02 02:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Specifically, how do you feel about betatesting a card game.
See, I had this dream....
/begin flashback

/end flashback

Anyway, I dreamt about telling my mother and grandmother about this great new game I'd thought up. It was a Rummy varient that featured a wildcard "bar" that you could put over any card to turn that card into a wildcard.
Every player had two bars to start the game.
