I posted it before I even left the building, using the campus wireless network. There are advantages to having a wireless PDA and a staff account on Athena. I even posted it before browsing the actual store portion (25% off regular priced books this weekend...). Naturally, while there, I found...more books to buy. (Above and beyond the original batch.) Those people are evil.
What'd you get?
Good question. :-)
I stopped by my office to drop the books off so I didn't have to haul them around town, and haven't been back to haul them home yet. This means I don't actually remember all the books I bought.
Among the ones I do remember, a history of the 1971-1984 era in videogaming (as the Golden Age of Videogaming is, as for SF, twelve), Moondust: In Search of the Men Who Fell To Earth, and an extra copy of the O'Reilly Python Pocket Reference, so I can leave one at work. (For $5, why not?)
I only got two books - William Vollman's 1 volume condensation of Rising Up and Rising Down, his 7-volume study of the history and philosophy of violence; and Cloak and Dollar, a history of US intelligence agencies that focuses on their pursuit of funding and the emergence of the con-man spy.
