It's been a while since I last re-read "Let There Be Light", but now that you mention it I remember that plot thread also. The amount (and directions) of potential cross-fertilization there are tough to nail down in any case; "Let There Be Light" was 1940, "Snowball" was 1955, and Friday was 1982, so there was plenty of time for the elements to mix and remix.
